Temporary Beach Closure at West Point
Due to elevated levels of E. coli detected by the Govstack Health Unit, West Point's Beach Area 1 and Beach Area 2 are closed for swimming until further notice. The Govstack Health Unit indicates the cause is due to high amounts of precipitation that have occurred in recent days.
Beach Area 1 and Beach Area 2 remain open for recreational activities outside the affected swimming areas. The Govstack Health Unit will update the public on the City's website when water quality conditions are safe for swimming. Visit our Govstack Health Unit page to learn more about how closures are determined and how to predict the quality of beach water during your visit.
